What is Spectrum Tokyo Festival?

Taking the stage at Global Stage

Spectrum Tokyo Festival is a two-day design conference hosted by Spectrum Tokyo, a design content platform and community dedicated to celebrating the diversity of design. We aim to create the most enjoyable place in Japan to talk about design.

Across multiple tracks, the event features a wide range of talks and workshops covering the broad spectrum of design. In the central gathering space, you’ll find interactive booths, light snacks, and drinks—offering the perfect atmosphere for casual conversations and meaningful connections.

It’s a two-day event where design practitioners of all kinds—regardless of discipline, background, or nationality—can come together to meet, discuss, and connect.

Next stop: February 7–8 (Sat–Sun) February 14-15 (Sat-Sun)

We’re excited to announce that Spectrum Tokyo Festival 2026 will be held over two days, February 7 (Sat.) and 8 (Sun.) February 14(Sat.) -15 (Sun.), at the DMM.com office space in Roppongi.
*Please note: our past three editions were held in December, but the festival will take place in February this time.

In the past two editions, we made a deliberate choice to focus on the in-person festival experience, opting not to offer livestreaming. We plan to continue with this fully offline format for 2026 as well.

At Spectrum Tokyo, we believe that the heart of an event lies in real human connection—something that cannot be replicated through livestreams or archived videos. That’s why we’re committed to preserving the energy and serendipity that only an in-person gathering can bring.

We truly hope you’ll spend the whole day with us, from morning till evening, and fully experience everything the festival has to offer.

Call for Speakers

At Spectrum Tokyo Festival, we host multiple tracks of talks and workshops throughout the event.
To create an inspiring space full of unexpected encounters, the content is carefully curated by the Spectrum Tokyo team—and we’re always looking to discover new voices through our open call for speakers.

The Theme

Embrace the thrill of design challenges

The term “design” has become so broad and ambiguous that it is difficult to know what exactly is being referred to when it is used on its own. Today, design methodologies and design domains span a wide range of fields, and design is expanding beyond its narrow industry boundaries into a broader world.

Spectrum Tokyo is a community platform focused on digital design within this broader landscape. What we find fascinating is how digital design talents, who have traditionally worked within screens, are now beginning to exert their influence in the real world and society. In user- and society-centric design, the distinction between analog and digital no longer matters.

Designing services and products for such a hybrid world is undoubtedly challenging, but it is precisely this challenge that is giving rise to greater diversity in design and showcasing new possibilities.

At Spectrum Tokyo, we believe that there are as many colors as there are people, and as many designs as there are people. At this festival, we invite designers from various fields to share their practical knowledge and insights into the possibilities of design.
