Designing spaces where people connect
Spectrum Tokyo Inc. is a design studio that designs spaces for people working in design within the tech industry.
Centered around the design community “Spectrum Tokyo” that we have been operating since 2022, we provide content and learning opportunities for next-generation designers. By creating experiences and spaces where people can connect, learn, and gain motivation, we hope that technology will become more meaningful and significant to society.
We also aim to serve as a bridge between Japan and the world, disseminating Japanese design culture and providing opportunities to experience global design culture, in order to bring diversity to the global design world.
Our Projects
Festivals / Conferences
We question conventional conferences where large numbers of people gather merely to listen to presentations, and are seriously reconsidering what meaning and value there is in people gathering in physical spaces. Especially since COVID, people’s enthusiasm for in-person events has been high, and we are conceptualizing and implementing various initiatives to create spaces with higher engagement.

Meetups
Our meetup events are held almost monthly since 2023, and has become the core initiative of a community where over 1,000 people have participated through more than 25 sessions. With approximately 40-50 participants each month, we adopt a lightning talk format that emphasizes “dialogue and exchange,” centered around mid- to senior-level design practitioners, creating a space where diverse participants gather regardless of industry, job type, or level.

Design Magazine
“Spectrum Tokyo Magazine” is a web magazine themed around the diversity of design. Our mission is to expand perspectives on design in digital creation and increase the number of people who creatively solve increasingly complex challenges.
Consulting / Advisory
We share our expertise and know-how in creating spaces and building communities, while collaborating with clients to develop and execute strategies and policies for their specific cases.
