Spectrum Tokyo presents "Design Retreat Ishikawa" — a 3-day field retreat that takes you beyond Tokyo to explore Ishikawa Prefecture (Kaga, Noto, and Kanazawa).

なぜ石川県なのか
Why Ishikawa Prefecture?
36の伝統工芸が今も息づき、ユネスコ創造都市にも認定された石川県は、日本で最もデザインの地層が厚い地域のひとつです。今回はそんな石川県の加賀市に去年11月に新しくオープンした「KITAMAE BASE 加賀橋立」を拠点に上質な宿・食を楽しみつつ、九谷焼や山中漆器などに代表される伝統工芸のクラフトマンシップやカルチャー、それに紐づくビジネスを学べる環境をご用意しました。
With 36 traditional crafts still thriving and UNESCO Creative City designation, Ishikawa is one of Japan's richest regions in design heritage. We've chosen "KITAMAE BASE Kaga Hashitate," newly opened in November in Kaga City, as our home base — offering premium accommodation and cuisine while providing opportunities to learn about the craftsmanship and culture of traditional crafts such as Kutani ware and Yamanaka lacquerware, as well as the businesses built around them.
